Description

In this module students engage in an extensive examination of a topic in science communication, or produce a large-scale piece of creative or journalist work on science-based topics. The academic dissertation and the media production project both represent a substantial piece of independent work by students.

Learning Outcomes

1. demonstrate their proven ability to undertake a major piece of independent academic or media production work
2. engage with detailed arguments and present illuminating insights in writing and orally on the topic of their project / dissertation
3. present a detailed written proposal and oral presentation of a selected topic for research or for media production
4. analyse critically the structure and content of published academic works and media production projects
5. integrate feedback and critiques from supervisors and peers into research and media production designs
