Description

At the end of this short course students will be better able to use advanced word processing tools to present long documents such as a thesis in a consistent way. Students will use styles to present text, tables and headings consistently. They will also be able to generate tables of contents automatically

Learning Outcomes

1. Create and/or adapt appropriate styles to format normal text throughout a long document
2. Create and/or adapt appropriate styles to format headings consistently throughout a long document
3. Create and/or adapt appropriate styles to format blockquote text, tables, references, and captions consistently throughout a long document
4. Create and/or adapt appropriate styles to format blockquote text, table text, references and captions consistently throughout a long document
5. Paginate a long document in two sections with different formats as appropriate
6. Use styles to generate a table of contents which can be updated
