Description

Students learn the importance of professionalism in teaching and develop their own understanding of what it means to be a good teacher. Students learn the skills of communication, listening, presentation, reflecting and are able to give accurate self evaluations. They develop their self esteem and build confidence. Students are introduced to eLearning resources for use in their teaching.

Learning Outcomes

1. Excercise professionalism as a teacher.
2. Reflect on and self-assess own learning in order to identify areas of strength and areas in need of improvement.
3. Articulate own vision and values.
4. Evaluate and critique own teaching.
5. Create lesson plans and teaching resources in science and mathematics syllabi.
6. Use technology in order to collaborate with peers and share teaching resources.
7. Recognise the effectiveness of collaborative learning for teachers and students.
8. Students learn to become researchers and recognise themselves as lifelong learners.
9. Demonstrate communication and presentation skills using expository teaching methods
