Description

The purpose of the modules is to provide a learning environment in which teachers experience the use of digital technolgies in learning. Which will enable teachers to make effective use of digital technologies in teaching and learning. Arising from the module they will be equiped to examine policies and guidelines on the use of digital technologies in education and examine research methods appropriate to teaching scenarios.

Learning Outcomes

1. Critically reflect on different theoretical perspectives in digital technologies and appraise their impact on teaching and learning in contemporary Post Primary Education
2. Synthesise the major theoretical perspectives in digitial technologies and interpret their influence on education policy and practice in contemporary post primary education
3. Appraise the relevance of digitial technologies in the development of the Irish post primary education system
4. Investigate how digital technologies inform the practice of post primary teachers in the Irish education system
5. Apply a critical understanding of digitial media and learning and recognise it's manifestation in modern day, post primary education
