Description

The purpose of the module is to equip students with skills and knowledge in leadership. The application of concepts around the recruitment, selection and retention of talent and connecting leadership with equality and diversity will be explored. There will be an opportunity to examine coaching and mentoring in the workplace. Students will also delve into the meaning of strategic thinking, strategy development and leadership.

Learning Outcomes

1. Explore a range of leadership styles in an organisational setting.
2. Examine Strategic Thinking, Strategy Development and Leadership in organisations.
3. Describe the key elements of talent management, coaching and mentoring and performance appraisal.
4. Recognise and harness the potential of the workforce in a complex and diverse working environment.
5. Outline the practice of human resource management
6. Be aware of your own role as a leader.
