Description

This module aims to introduce students to the main criteria in selecting and carrying out a project linking science with education; to select a scientific topic/area of interest and to investigate it fully; and to develop the students' understanding and awareness of research tools

Learning Outcomes

1. Develop suitable investigative questions that can be tackled e.g. in the classroom laboratory
2. Carry out appropriate background reading in the literature to inform a research question or to identify student difficulties
3. Develop and implement laboratory experiments to address a research question
4. Examine experimental results critically to draw conclusions and inform further work
5. Present the project both orally and in written formats in a cohesive manner
