Description

This module will equip students with insights and skills for personal career self-management and leadership development. This includes identification of leadership competencies for development in the short and medium term. It explores the nature of leadership and leadership skills, leading yourself, leadership brand, a leadership mindset and personal leadership strategies. It will develop competencies to work effectively in teams. The module will provide students with opportunities to identify key areas for personal development and support their efforts to achieve this change. Building a strong leadership identity and learning to sustain a leadership mindset amidst challenging encounters will evolve from engaging in this module.

Learning Outcomes

1. Assess their effectiveness of leading and working as part of a team
2. Apply strategies to assist effective team working
3. Demonstrate key presentation skill competence
4. Evaluate self and peer assessment of their leadership competencies
5. Set medium term personal development goals and progress these
6. Critically evaluate ethical considerations in applied work settings
7. Reflect on their personal learning journey and development as a leader across the programme
8. Assess their career goals and plot proactive career goals
