This model explores the nature of strategic human resource management, in particular, the links between HR strategy and business strategy and research linking HRM and performance.

Learning Outcomes

1. Review the relationship between HRM and business strategy
2. Evaluate the strategic role of the HR manager/ function within the organisation
3. Critique models of strategic HRM and research on the relationship between HRM and performance
4. Apply learning from the module to show how specific areas of HRM operate strategically in an organisation
