Description

This module recognises the period of study abroad undertaken by students on the Business Studies International programme. Students take 45 credits of language, cultural and business modules in our partner universities in France, Spain, Germany, Austria, China and Japan. These are examined and assessed by our partner institutions under our Socrates/Erasmus/other international agreements. Students must seek advance approval from their coordinators for the modules which they wish to take. This is formalised through the completion of Learning Agreements.LC330 is the module code used for administrative convenience to capture the pass/fail overall result for the 45 credit component of the year abroad.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate substantial progress in their use and understanding of the target language and increased confidence in their language proficiency.
2. Demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of business and general economic issues in their host country
3. Achieve the learning outcomes of the specific modules undertaken in the host University

Indicative Content and Learning Activities

Language
A minimum of 10 credits of language classes at CEFR B1 (or equivalent) or above

Business (English)
A maximum of five credits of a business related subject through English

Business (target language)
A minimum of 20 credits in business modules through the target language

Other Modules
Students may take the remaining credits to total 45 through business, language or cultural modules through the target language
