This module introduces students to the operation of the Irish political system and in so doing, enables students to understand the operation of political systems more generally.

Learning Outcomes

1. demonstrate a critical understanding of the Irish political system
2. describe the policy making process
3. explain the origins of the Northern Ireland conflict
4. explain Ireland's role in the EU
