Description This module will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of European Employment Law. The module aims to provide students with a knowledge and critical appreciation of, the current trends and characteristics of the subject area in this complex and evolving area of law. The module will explain the development of European Employment Law and its influence on employment rights and labour law. The module will address the key social, political and economic policy arguments that have an impact on the development of European employment law. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Explain the role of the European Union in employment law and labour law. 2. Analyse the social, political and economic context within Europe and how it has affected the development of European employment law. 3. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the important legal principles that underline employment law by reference to relevant legislation and case law. 4. Assess the influence of competing critical perspectives on employment law. 5.
