Description

This module offers a wide range of experience in music performance skills, including practice techniques, rehearsal etiquette, accompaniment, giving and receiving constructive feedback, examining musical performance, part and score reading, and conducting through solo and ensemble instrumental and vocal performance, and participation in the Chorale. The module also includes individual instrumental/vocal tuition, with subsidised lessons available on-site through the Artane School of Music.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate a level of practical musicianship and instrumental/performance skills appropriate to Year 2.
2. Display foundational skills in solo and ensemble performance.
3. Engage in the organisation of choral rehearsals and performances, using the necessary interpersonal skills.
4. Apply the competencies acquired to the teaching context.
5. Display an appropriate practical knowledge of style and repertoire.
