Description This module enables nurses, midwives, medics and allied health professionals within public, private and voluntary services to develop their clinical role in order to assess, diagnose, plan, intervene and evaluate care in response to the symptoms experienced by patients during the rehabilitation period post Covid-19 infection. This module enables the participants to apply their knowledge, skills and understanding of specialist theory and apply to the patient’s care/needs. Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate general knowledge, skills and understanding of available theory on post Covid 19 symptoms in response to patient care needs; 2. Undertake a comprehensive health history from a patient and critically analyse including assessment details in the context of the existing evidence base to inform practice in a variety of clinical contexts; 3. Use evidence based tools and related theories to guide nursing practice in response to this new condition; 4. Demonstrate interdisciplinary relationships with stakeholders in the delivery of patient care, safety, and quality clinical care delivery; 5. Indicative Content of Covid 19 Rehabilitation and recovery• Contemporary reflections of symptoms of Covid 19 disease and appraisal of contemporary challenges and opportunities in addressing patient needs. • Understanding of the complexity of the disease and its range of effects across the lifespan of the population. • Strategies will be used to discuss the implementation of changes required to meet the gaps in service. • Critical exploration of the theories and frameworks that inform decision-making related to contemporary clinical situations such as post Covid 19 rehabilitation. • Teamwork and optimizing effectiveness that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration. • Exploration of theoretical perspectives (including legislative and health definitions of this disease) on patient outcomes following infection of the disease • Critical exploration of leadership role and responsibilities, accountability, governance and risk management related to role. • Engagement in professional scholarship and exploring opportunities for research development.Teaching and Learning• Keynote lectures (ANPs, Nurse, Doctors, AHPs) to assist participants develop a critical understanding of the complexities of this emerging phenomenon. • Learners will be facilitated to enhance critical thinking skills and use clinical judgment to arrive at decisions based on the evidence and experience. • Group work where participants will be presented with clinically based scenarios. • Participants will be provided with tutorials to enable them to apply theoretical aspects of the module to practice settings. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
