Description

The module introduces the student to a range of texts for translation, with a view to providing a basic understanding of general translation practice.

Learning Outcomes

1. Translate a range of general texts from Spanish into English.
2. Identify and explain translation challenges encountered with reference to concepts such register, text type, collocation, etc.
3. Write grammatically correct, natural English texts
4. Source and utilise appropriate background documentation of relevance to the task of translation.
5. Make good use of lexicographical resources.
