Description This module is delivered entirely in Spanish and aims to consolidate student’s language competence and fluency with particular emphasis on the quality of spoken and written production. Aural and reading comprehension are reinforced through exposure to a variety of text types, including online language resources. Awareness of knowledge of key cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries is also increased. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Scan texts in order to locate and gather the desired information on familiar subjects from different written materials and websites. 2. Communicate orally and in an intelligible manner, on familiar topics related to his/her interests, being able to enter unprepared into conversations to exchange, check and confirm information pertinent to e.g.everyday life, university life, interests, travel etc. 3. Produce cohesive texts (creative, factual etc) in Spanish on personal, social and cultural themes using subordinate sentences linked by a number of cohesive devices e.g in a story, with accurate use of Spanish grammar and theme-specific vocabulary. 4. Show a good degree of grammatical control’ draw on sufficient vocabulary to express him/herself on most topics pertinent to his/her everyday life and make only a few mistakes leading to misunderstanding. 5. Demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and intercultural awareness on how behaviour in everyday interactions in different cultures may convey a message different to the one he/she intends. 6. Engage in activities with digital resources to develop capacity for lifelong learning e.g. Pursue the use of digital tools and resources for language learning that lead to fulfilling student’s individual learning needs and preferences. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
