Description

This is a blended learning module which seeks to foster the capacity for awareness, reflection and self-assessment. Learners will be exposed to a variety of tools and techniques assessing personal learning styles, strengths, bias, cultural understanding, well-being and the management of technology. Through completion of digital badges, learners will better understand their own strengths and identify opportunities for improved self-management, while reflective exercises will expose learners to a variety of career experiences. Learning in the module will be captured through the development of a dynamic e-portfolio providing a means for students to explore, reflect and monitor their own potential and progress.

Learning Outcomes

Getting to Know Yourself
The basis and significance of reflection and self-assessment. Personality and strengths based assessment.

Understanding leadership meta-competencies. Frenemies- descriptions of personal attributes that are core strengths but can also serve as obstacles to achievement and fulfilment

Self-Management & Personal Performance
Time management, setting goals and targets. Managing energy, flow and well-being. Understanding the role and impact of technology. Return on Ambition Toolbox.

Understanding and Valuing Values
Diversity and inclusion. Perceptual process model and implicit bias test. Cross-cultural awareness through virtual collaborative experience.

Career Orientation and Anchors
Building psychological capital. Career paths, ladders and anchors. Reflective intergenerational learning (past), alumni insights (Present), Futurology (Futures).
