To provide students with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the content and assessment methodology of the Senior Cycle Chemistry specification

Learning Outcomes

1. Develop pedagogical content knowledge for teaching class-based and practical chemistry to upper second level students
2. Discuss, develop and evaluate a variety of pedagogical approaches in teaching chemistry at upper second level
3. Design curriculum and learning activities that address the learning outcomes of the leaving certificate curriculum in chemistry
4. Design and evaluate assessment material for specified learning outcomes in chemistry
