Description Digital technologies have profoundly changed how we live. The internet and the means to access it, such as tablets and smartphones, along with social media platforms and messaging apps, have become integral to our everyday lives. This module will examine the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) into guidance practice. The development of critical, professional and ethical awareness will be key part of the learning as we examine the overall context of technology and guidance. Students will begin to critically analyse the various aspects of technology while reflecting on the advantages, disadvantages, responsibilities, effectiveness etc. from both a user and client perspective You will take part in discussion, debate and interaction between fellow students and practitioners as you develop an understanding of the implication of a move towards digitialisation of the career guidance sector on your practice. Learning Outcomes 1. Examine the overall context of technology and guidance, evaluating the opportunities and challenges for guidance presented by the use of existing and emerging technologies 2.
