Description

This module is designed to equip students with a working knowledge of mapping and GIS. Alongside teaching technical and computational skills, the module encourages students to deconstruct the maps they encounter in the world by analysing the design choices they engender.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate the ability to find, access and organise appropriate information and resources in digital environments.
2. Visualize and present complex geographical data relating to a variety of themes straddling both human and physical geography.
3. Demonstrate collaborative communication in a team environment.
4. Understand and critically evaluate a range of approaches to mapping and GIS.
5. Apply mathematical concepts to geographical data analysis.
