Description This module identifies and explores the key ideas, problems, and trends in both global development as an economic process and as a political project in the past century up to today. It considers how geographers have thought about development, from Modernist to Feminist, Participatory to Post-Development approaches, including perspectives from Global North and Global South. Learning Outcomes 1. Analyse how human and physical environments interact with processes of economic development at various scales. 2. Explore historical and contemporary development in a variety of global contexts. 3. Understand and critically evaluate a range of research approaches and methodologies in development geography. 4. Practically apply research and communication skills in the context of a simulated diplomatic negotiation. 5.
