The emphasis is on creating a well-crafted, original piece of work that demonstrates both technical competence and individual self-expression. The process of developing a manuscript prepares students for a range of future opportunities in writing, editing, production, and various forms of employment in the marketplace of literary and creative production, as well as aiding their understanding of the craft and techniques of writing, in terms of academic studies.
