Description

This weekly two-hour seminar and workshop is led by Ferdia MacAnna. You will be working on screenplays, bringing your work-in-progress to be discussed with Ferdia and other students. The module is designed to give you opportunities to receive feedback on developing work, and to discuss various topics underpinning the craft of writing, and the creative process in general.

Learning Outcomes

1. Have an informed knowledge of and opinion about key screenwriting strategies. Understand the potential architectures of screenplays and their creative possibilities Analyse and evaluate different implications of stylistic choices Understand the importance of drafting and revision in the writing process Understand how to relate theory to practice Demonstrate sensitivity to language, structure and character as phenomena of narration, and visuals as a central feature of filmmaking.
