Description

Globalization and digitalization are converging with enormous consequences for strategy. Industry structures are being redefined resulting in changes to the nature of competition. Global organisations are looking beyond their value chains toward ecosystems to harness enduring competitive advantage whilst leaders increasingly look to digital platforms to execute their strategies and access global opportunities and markets. This module will explore strategy tools and techniques to develop your ability to formulate and critically evaluate strategies of internationally operating organisations for their sustained success. The module seeks to equip students with relevant theoretical insights and practical examples to better inform 21st-century business strategy decision-making.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of suitable frameworks used to analyse and assess business and global strategy
2. Apply strong critical reasoning to the identification and solving of strategy issues of internationally operating organisations
3. Exhibit an integrative and holistic understanding in evaluating global strategies and developing suitable recommendations
4. Understand the nature of strategic positioning within a digital globalization context
5. Critically analyse strategic capabilities within a digital globalization context
