Description

This module aims to develop the capabilities required to apply HR analytics to link human resource decisions to business outcomes and organisational performance. The module provides a grounding in the basic principles of people analytics and will explore how HR data from both internal and external sources can be used to create value by supporting business and people related decision making. We will also practice the use of storytelling techniques to make an impact with HR data.

Learning Outcomes

1. Recognise the value of people analytics in supporting evidence-based decision making and achievement of business objectives
2. Understand where people analytics fits within the concept of big data.
3. Demonstrate how tools such as Data Visualisation can be applied in the analysis of HR data
4. Communicate effectively with stakeholders using data and data analytics
5. Demonstrate how the skills of data driven storytelling can be applied to have a positive influence on people related decision making
6. Devise a strategy for the application of HR Analytics to add value in a HR function

RC3: No resit is available for the coursework component where there is a coursework and summative examination element.
