Description
Equips future managers and personnel specialists to choose appropriate tools for selection and
assessment; trains the future personnel specialist and human resource specialist in the use, development
and assessment of tests and other techniques used for selection and recruitment, internal and external.

Learning Outcomes
1. 1. Evaluate the various techniques of assessing applicants for positions in organisations 2. Explain the nature and processes of job analysis as the fundamental starting point of selection and assessment activities 3. Apply these techniques to make recommendations on suitable assessment procedures for organisations 4. Critique the nature of the selection and assessment environment with awareness of the implications of validity and reliability issues for the testing context

An evaluation of the entire process in terms of academic literature (Figure 1 below may be used as
a framework to guide analysis).
A discussion of the issues your organisation should consider when addressing the process.
