Description Project management skills are needed and used regularly in every workplace. With companies becoming more projectized, there is a huge increase in projects being commissioned – companies have to adapt much more quickly, and projects are being used to support and drive digital transformation efforts. Projects at both a small and large scale require strong planning to ensure that they are completed within budget, on time and at a sufficient level of quality. Organisations have moved increasingly towards agile approaches, and hybrid approaches crossing both traditional and agile are gaining in popularity. This module covers both conventional and agile approaches to project management to give an understanding of techniques and methods to manage projects of any type, throughout their lifecycle. Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the characteristics of a project (scope, time, cost, quality and risk) and the project management lifecycle 2. Evaluate and describe the technical and sociocultural aspects of managing projects 3. Comprehend conventional, agile and hybrid approaches to project management 4. Understand how to plan, estimate and analyse project times, costs and risks 5. Explain and identify critical path and total slack, resource levelling and resource limited scheduling 6.
