To increase the theoretical knowledge base of students who care for children and their families with Diabetes Mellitus and other forms of diabetes. To further the students practical knowledge and clinical skills in the nursing care and management of children with diabetes and their families.

Learning Outcomes

1. Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate appropriate evidence based care in the nursing management of children with diabetes in the healthcare setting and in the community
