Description

The module will enable students to: Mental Health Placements Expand knowledge and understanding of nursing practice and develop proficiency in nursing skills. Integrate nursing knowledge to practice. General Nursing Placements To assist students to develop their knowledge and skills in the care of people who are experiencing physical illness. To enable students to examine the roles of nurses working in a general hospital setting.

Learning Outcomes

1. Assess, plan, and prioritise nursing care to clients with mental health problems with a variety of health care needs
2. Demonstrate proficiency in complex nursing skills
3. Communicate relevant information to other members of the team verbally and in writing
4. Begin to integrate research findings to nursing practice
5. Contribute to the team in an assertive and professional manner
6. Interact appropriately with clients, family members and other members of the healthcare organization
