Description

This module provides a foundational survey of theological reflection on Jesus of Nazareth, his life, his teaching, his death and resurrection and what it means to call Jesus the Christ. Examining Christology from postcolonial, liberation, feminist, and interreligious perspectives will be key aspects of the course.

Learning Outcomes

1. Identify and evaluate the sources of information for a Christian understanding of Jesus the Christ
2. Outline the distinctive features and historical context of Jesus’ ministry, mission, death and Resurrection.
3. Demonstrate an ability to engage in and extrapolate from a close reading of key texts in the area of Christology.
4. Examine Christology in an interreligious context.
