Description This module is conducted predominantly through Spanish in line with CEFR A2 level and supporting the aims of the Primary Language Curriculum. Throughout the course, students will perform individual and collaborative tasks to build on existing knowledge. This module particularly emphasises intercultural competence, and reinforces oral and written skills and digital literacy. By increasing awareness and knowledge of key cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking countries, it seeks to develop students’ ability to function effectively across cultures, think and act appropriately, and communicate and work with people from different cultural backgrounds. The learners will be encouraged to apply these acquired abilities in their future teaching. Through multimodal tools the students will be guided to monitor and to reflect on their learning. Learning Outcomes 1. Listening & Reading Comprehension: Engage with multimodal texts dealing with familiar and contemporary topics to find reliable information, and to understand the main idea and other significant details. 2. Spoken Interaction & Production: Communicate orally using simple interconnected sentences in both pre-planned and spontaneous situations being able to describe, narrate and formulate opinions. Present information in public in a relatively elaborated and cohesive manner. 3. Written Production: Express themselves coherently and reflect in writing on contemporary and cultural topics studied. Communicate efficiently, to a limited extent, opinions about some topics beyond personal experience. 4. Language Accuracy: Prepare, discuss and deliver interactively several collaborative multimodal productions in the target language using lexical and grammatical features that are adequate to express thoughts about cultural topics and to describe experiences, feelings and events in some detail. 5. Cultural Awareness: Demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and intercultural awareness by contrasting cultural behaviours and values. 6. Autonomous Learning & Reflection: Develop metacognitive awareness by reflecting regularly on personal progress, identifying learning needs, and adopting strategies to manage and sustain language learning over time. 7.
