7To teach an appreciation of the importance and nature of environmental monitoring.
7To describe global change and means of monitoring and controlling such change.
7To describe how to quantify and assess anthropogenic affects upon the environment.
7To make student aware of the technical tools available for environmental monitoring.
7To understand the nature and implementation of effective pollution control measures.
7To develop an awareness of clean-up procedures for pollution incidents.
7To develop an awareness of legal tools for the control of environmental damage.
