Module Aims
To introduce the student to the theory, applications and techniques of computer and machine vision. To provide students with an understanding of the problems involved in the development and implementation of vision systems. This course will also give the student the skills and knowledge to evaluate new vision technologies.

Learning Outcomes
Having successfully completed this course, the student will 1. be familiar with the essential elements of computer and machine vision systems. 2. have the ability to design and implement image processing, analysis and classification techniques. 3. have a knowledge of the performance of commercial vision systems. 4. be able to evaluate emerging computer and machine vision technologies.
