Module Aims

The module will enable students to:

  •  Explore the concept of health promotion as a mechanism for health and social gain.


Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module and following a period of personal study the student will be able to

  • Critically analyse the concepts of health and health promotion.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of policy developments in health promotion from a national and international perspective.
  • Analyse and critically evaluate health promotion models and approaches.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of health inequalities and ethical issues in the provision of health promotion.
