To introduce students to inclusion and adaptation in sport and physical activity for people with disabilities



Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of this module students will be able to: -

  • Demonstrate knowledge on the international terminology, definitions and objectives of the adapted physical activity movement -
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the concept and development of disability sport within Irish sporting structures at local, regional and national level
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the differences among and between the different models of disability
  • Understand the implications that societal attitudes have toward people with disabilities participating in sport and physical activity
