Module Aims
You will be introduced to the principal contemporary theories of education and the process of learning design. You will have the opportunity to carry out research in practice and to examine the relationship between ICT and learning. You will explore the use of new emerging technologies through collaboration with tutors, peers and international collaborators.

  • Demonstrate an engagement with research literature, learning theories and learning design.
  • Provide evidence of your own learning, your influence in student learning.
  • Analyse key elements and issues in relation to your own emerging pedagogy and demonstrate evidence of critical and creative thinking.

Indicative Syllabus

Contemporary theories of education. Action Research approach. Multimedia and the Web in education and training. Relationship between ICT and learning. Design process in developing learning resources. Examination of various emerging technologies. Exploration of creative software.

Assessment
The collaborative approach involves tutor, peer group and international educators. Assessment reflects the collaborative and interactive approach of the module. Assessment involves the presentation of supporting text to accompany the web-based artefact developed for the Educational Applications of Multimedia module.
