Description

The module enables students to engage in the processese involved in theexecution of a research dissertation. The module provides the opportunity for learners to demonstrate the ability to identify an applied issue in organisational life which requires research and understanding. The module will offer the particpant the opportunity to identify, diagnose and investiagate this issues. This includes the positioning of the research in the relevant theoretical/empirical literature. The design of a ethically cogent and methodologically robust research plan. The operationalisation of the research programme and the appropriate analysis and interpretation of the data. The module emphsises the inclusion of practical and actionable recommendations for change, improvement or enhancement of current organisational practice. Learners are required to demonstrate a critial evaluative approach and to undertake empirical investigation and analysis.

Learning Outcomes

1. Conduct a thorough critique of the literature relevant to their chosen research topic
2. Identify a topic/issue pertinent to organisational behaviour and functioning which requires further research and understanding.
3. Develop cogent and coherent research questions which reflect extant literature/research
4. Design a rigorous research programme which abides by research ethics standards of the PSI
5. Analyse and interpret fieldwork data collected
6. Deliver results in considered and reflective fashion including critique
