Description Year 3 Coordinators: Dr. Gabrielle Carty (Spanish) Dr. Agnès Maillot (French) Dr. Áine McGillicuddy (German) Mr. Kozo Matsuda (Japanese) Dr. Annette Simon (Chinese). Year 3 of the ALIS programme provides students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the relevant Target Language and Culture. Students attend Partner Universities in China, Europe, Japan or Mexico for a full academic year. The selected modules are compatible with the student’s chosen Language Pathway (Single or Dual) and Specialism (Translation Studies or Intercultural Studies). Modules can be drawn from the wide range of modules offered in partner universities (excluding modules delivered/ assessed in English in the case of Europe or Mexico) and are selected within certain established criteria. Students take a least one cultural module. Modules focussing on the Target Language are delivered and assessed through that language. Modules focussing on the Second Language are delivered and assessed through that language. Module choices and the student’s overall number of hours/ credits are approved by the Year Abroad Coordinator and recorded in a Learning Agreement. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
