Description This module aims to introduce students to the discipline of Security Studies. It will will explore the main debates within the academic literature on security and conflict in the contemporary world, and the implications of these debates for the practice of security in the 21st Century. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and categorise the main approaches within Security Studies 2. Analyse the challenges that Security practitioners face in the contemporary world 3. Apply their theoretical knowledge to real world cases 4. Critically engage with the scholarly literature on Security 5.
