Description To apply general nursing principles to special client groups and practice settings, specifically mental health, maternity and infant/toddler/young children s care settings. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Explore the fundamental concepts of care associated with special client groups and their families in a variety of special healthcare settings 2. Demonstrate a knowledge of the impact of illness and the specific nursing needs of the infant/child/ adolescent and their family in the hospital and community setting 3. Demonstrate a knowledge of the principles of midwifery practice and the role of the midwife caring for these women and their families 4. Demonstrate a knowledge of the nature of nursing clients and their familes with mental illness, categories of mental illness and the implications for general nursing practice in all health care settings | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
