Description Building on the knowledge gained in Health and Fitness 1 (SS102)the module will provide a comprehensive understanding of integrated approach the deveopment of training programmes for health and sport performance enhancement. Students will apply the core components of fitness and principles of training to programme design and field based fitness assessment. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the current training theory and practice relating to the development of strength, power, speed agility and anerobic conditoning. 2. Explain the principles of planning and periodisation and implement a training programme for a particular sport or individual athlete. 3. Execute and instruct the basic movements patterns of multi-joint weight lifting exercises. 4. Explain the fundamental principles of weight regulation and weight management in sport and health. 5. Describe the role and function of recovery and regeneration as part of a training plan and explain the scientific rationale of key recovery strategies. 6. Outline and demonstrate the principles of measurement used in the implementation of a battery of field based physiological tests relevent to a particular sport or athlete. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
