Description The aim of this module is to introduce the student to the role of the Athletic Therapist and Trainer, as part of the multidisciplinary team, in the management of the physically active population. Topics covered will include The principles of conducting a clinical consultation. The principles of history taking. Detailed functional and surface anatomy of the lower limb. The principles and techniques of clinical assessment of lower limb injuries with a view to making an accurate diagnosis. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. describe the functional anatomy of the lower limbs 2. describe the surface anatomy of the lower limbs 3. describe the process of taking a history from a patient with a lower limb injury 4. clinically examine the lower limbs 5. Describe the role of the Athletic Therapist and Trainer, as part of the mutlidisciplinary team, in the management of a patient 6.
