Description

The module explores three twentieth-century topics: [1] The emergence and development of the socialist revolution in Russia; [2] The interaction between the Catholic Church and the modern world; and [3] Social, economic and cultural developments in the United States of America.

Learning Outcomes

1. Display a detailed knowledge of a range of topics in 20th-century History
2. Identify the most relevant ideas and issues in the emergence and development of the Russian Revolution
3. Apply a range of acquired analytical skills in dealing with Church texts and documents
4. Show some independence of thought and objectivity when dealing with issues and problems in modern American history
