Module Aims: This module aims to introduce the student to 1.common medical conditions among athletes 2.how to differentiate between systemic and musculoskeletal pain presentation 3.doping substances and practices

Learning Outcomes

1. List and describe common illnesses in athletes
2. Differentiate between systemic and musculoskeletal pain
3. Plan vaccinations before travelling abroad
4. Recognise illnessess as factors limiting sport performance
5. Refer athletes to specialised doctors/clinics
6. list and describe common doping practices and explain their role as performance enhancers
