Description

Developing Internet Applications covers the complete development cycle, from setting up a web server, database and programming language to programming in PHP. We look at sample open source applications and see how to tailor them to requirements. We show how to use virtual machines to improve scalability and security of a website.

Learning Outcomes

1. Create a virtual machine and install an operating system on the virtual machine.
2. Install a web server and a database server.
3. Learn the basics of the PHP programming language.
4. Install and tailor open sample open source web packages.
