Description

Module Aims: This module aims to introduce the student to 1.common medical conditions among athletes 2.drugs use and abuse among athletes 3.doping rules, substances and practices

Learning Outcomes

1. List and describe common illnesses in athletes
2. Plan vaccinations before travelling abroad
3. Recognise illnessess as factors limiting sport performance
4. Refer athletes to specialised doctors/clinics
5. Differentiate between systemic and musculoskeletal pain
6. List and describe common doping practices and explain their role as performance enhancers
