Description

To further examine the relationship between biomechanics and (i) sports performance, (ii) neuromuscular training, and (iii) injury prevention. To develop the students' ability to perform a qualitative analysis in sport.

Learning Outcomes

1. Explain the process involved in undertaking a qualitative analysis.
2. Critically discuss the role of biomechanics in either (i) enhancing sports performance, (ii) injury prevention or (iii) neuromuscular training
3. Outline the biomechanical factors that determine performance success in a number of sports
4. Outline the biomechanical factors that influence neuromuscular training
5. Explain the relationship between relative excessive loading on a tissue and increased risk of tissue injury
6. To gain experience in utilising instrumentation to analyse human motion
