Description

This module builds on an understanding of concepts in molecular biology and immunology. It aims to teach a range of methods in these subject areas by providing training in selected relevant techniques.

Learning Outcomes

1. isolate, quantitate and analyse nucleic acid preparations from various sources
2. qualitatively analyse selected DNA sequences using methods including restriction endonuclease analysis, Polymerase Chain Reaction, and electrophoresis
3. isolate and characterise polyclonal antibodies and conjugate antibodies with enzyme labels
