Description

The purpose of this module is to equip students with a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics. The module is delivered through a combination of face to face and online tutorials and online learning resources.

Learning Outcomes

1. Analyse and explain a set of data using numerical measures
2. Solve statistical problems using Excel spreadsheets
3. Apply the principles of sampling to solve problems
4. Solve problems by applying principles of probability and probability distributions
5. Choose suitable tests to formulate and apply hypotheses for statistical analysis
6. Communicate in writing the solution of numeric problems
7. Calculate relationships between variables to solve problems
8. Demonstrate an ability to understand basic concepts and solve problems.
9. Integrate and differentiate functions
