Description This module aims to introduce the student to the skills and techniques used to specify large software systems. In particular, the module will introduce the student to: - identifying and gathering software requirements; - specifying a set of requirements. It prepares student to understand tools and techniques useful at the industry level such as Unified Modeling Language (UML). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Understand a set of models, notations and processes for software requirements identification, representation, validation and analysis. 2. Analyse customer requirements and apply several documentation techniques to a software project (e.g. SRS, SDD) 3. Demonstrate their technical understanding by completing an SRS (Software Requirement Specification) and an SDD (Software Design Documentation) document. 4. Create Unified Modelling Language (UML) Use Cases to produce a requirements model. 5. Use the UML to describe software systems with Class diagrams, Sequence Diagrams, and State Charts . | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
