Description The goal of this Module is to provide students with access to the world class HR research being conducted within DCU Business School and across our global network. The module will raise student's awareness of emerging trends and controversies in HR practice and how research can inform their organizations' responses to these challenges The module will equip students to evaluate this research and assess implications for practice. Students' research skills will also be enhanced through interaction with researchers concerning tradeoffs and challenges in the research process. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Learning Outcomes 1. Describe current trends and issues in HR research 2. Assess the potential contribution of HR academic research to organisational practice 3. Analyse and critique theory and research on HRM, and convert theory and research into practice 4. Demonstrate understanding of the key tradeoffs faced by HR researchers in designing research studies 5. Apply your understanding of contemporary HR issues to evaluate the challenges and opportunities of managing people in organisations | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
